Dr. Conrad Murray on the Phone as MJ Died

November 10th, 2009 8:54 AM by Free Britney

Investigators probing the death of Michael Jackson say Dr. Conrad Murray was on the phone with his girlfriend, Nicole Alvarez, as the music icon was dying.
Dr. Murray, Jackson's personal physician, was on a cell phone with his girlfriend in Houston between 12:03-12:13 p.m. on June 25, 2009, when MJ passed.
The girlfriend told LAPD detectives that about five minutes into the call, she heard Dr. Murray abruptly drop the phone and then heard him administer CPR.
Nicole Alvarez said there was no indication Dr. Murray, the sole focus of the criminal investigation, knew anything was amiss before dropping the telephone.
She does not know if Murray was in the room with Jackson when he called her or if he walked in just before realizing the pop superstar was in deep trouble.

Dr. Conrad Murray's role in Michael Jackson's death is still being investigated.
A bodyguard at Michael Jackson's home called 911 at 12:21 p.m., around 13 minutes after Dr. Conrad Murray reportedly dropped the phone during the call.
It has been widely reported Dr. Murray was on the phone for 47 minutes before calling 911, possibly in an attempt to cover up what had just taken place.
Other accounts of the death timeline suggest it may have taken over an hour for the call to be made. Needless to say, it's hard to pin down what happened.
But this new timetable is more favorable for him, as it now appears those calls may have been placed before Dr. Murray realized Jackson was in distress.

Joe Jackson Relentless in Quest to Cash in

November 18th, 2009 7:02 AM by Free Britney
Filed under: Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson
Joe Jackson was already shut down last week by a judge after he tried to get a piece of son Michael's estate. But he's looking to overturn the court's decision.
The man is relentless in pursuit of cashing in. We're surprised he hasn't personally shown up to the house of Dr. Conrad Murray. Then again, he's broke.
Joe filed papers echoing Randy Jackson's recent claims that someone forged MJ's will. Joe wanted the judge to replace the current executors of MJ's estate.
A judge shot this down, clearing the way for Michael's executors, John Branca and John McClain, to do their thing. But Joe filed papers challenging the ruling.

Joe Jackson will not stop. Ever.
Next up, Joe will be caught on closed circuit TV trying to break into Forest Lawn and see if Michael was buried wearing any jewelry he can sell on Cash4Gold.com

Janet Jackson on Good Morning America: Family Not Naive; Held Interventions For Michael

November 18th, 2009 11:35 AM by Free Britney
Filed under: Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson
The Jackson family tried to stop Michael Jackson's addiction to prescription drugs by staging interventions, Janet Jackson said on Good Morning America today.
"Of course, that's what you do," the youngest member of the Jackson family said in an interview. "Those are the things that you do when you love someone."
"You can't just let them continue on that way. We tried that more than a few times," says Janet, who laments that ultimately, "We weren't very successful."
The singer says Michael Jackson responded in a measured way to his family's attempts to help. "He understood that it was out of love, out of caring."
She refutes critics' claims that the family was naive about Michael's problems or enabled the icon. Nevertheless, she admits, "People can be in denial."

Janet Jackson continues to speak out about her brother's death.
When ABC's Robin Roberts went to ask a follow-up question about Michael being in denial, she replies, "I wish he could answer this question. And not me."
Jackson said she is a "big believer in the power of prayer, but that's something you can't do for them ... it's something they have to do for themselves."
Growing up, Janet says of her eight siblings, she was closest to "Mike." The last time they spent time together was "a few days before my birthday," May 16.
"We had a lot of fun laughing. He was cracking up ... Laughing at me."
Michael Jackson tragically passed away June 25. Earlier this week, Janet said she believes Dr. Conrad Murray should be held responsible for his death.
On a personal note, Janet also put the kibosh on rumors that she's getting back together with Jermaine Dupri, though the two remain very close.

Investigators in Michael Jackson Homicide Case Being Extremely Thorough

November 14th, 2009 9:16 AM by Free Britney
    Filed under: Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson passed away June 25, and Dr. Conrad Murray has been the singular focal point of the police investigation into the star's death for months now.
Still, no charges have been pressed. What the heck's taking so long?
The LAPD and the D.A.'s office have two words for you: O.J.
MJ's homicide investigation is taking so much longer than expected, because, as one law enforcement source connected with the case said, "We've had bad luck with big cases like O.J. in the past, and we don't want to repeat those mistakes."
O.J. Simpson, many of you surely recall, was acquitted of double murder in 1995 despite a seemingly air tight case - one that unraveled after various blunders.
Fortunately, O.J. got his 13 years later after he kidnapped and robbed some people. But the police want to make sure Murray doesn't slip through their fingers.
The source also pointed to the Robert Blake case, which some experts believe was also botched. But the source added, "There is not a problem with the case."
"Time is on our side. We want to do this right."
There is no pressure to speed things up, department insiders say, and as a result, the L.A. County D.A.'s office and the LAPD have been meticulously working as a unit to "anticipate defense strategies and prepare for them."
The D.A.'s office is actively involved, requesting lots of info from the LAPD as the investigation proceeds. Among the issues they are still yet to fully reconcile:
    • <LI itxtvisited="1">Officials have keyed in on Applied Pharmacy in Las Vegas, and want to make sure there were no other pharmacies sending Propofol to Dr. Conrad Murray.
    • Another issue: authorities have gone back to their medical experts for more input, as "strategies have changed" in a case they call "very complicated."
As for when the investigation will conclude, authorities are saying they'd like to end it "before the Christmas holidays," but that could get pushed to January.
